Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital’s rehabilitation department was recently awarded with the “Better Health Award of 2008” by Old Dominion University’s College of Health Science department. The award recognizes Lake Taylor for their innovation of being the first rehabilitation department in the area to “Wiihabilitate.” |

Congrats, Eleanor Bradshaw! |
Eleanor Bradshaw, Lake Taylor’s Director of Government Relations, was recently recognized for her exceptional contribution and unwavering commitment to the Old Dominion University School of Nursing. She will be honored on October 20, 2007, at the Waterside Marriott in Norfolk. This year marks the 40th Anniversary for ODU’s School of Nursing. As part of this milestone celebration, ODU chose 40 individuals to be honored – Mrs. Bradshaw is one of these deserving individuals.

At 80, Claire McClelland isn’t particularly keen on video games, but she loves bowling, which she had to give up decades ago because of arthritis. Now the Norfolk woman is not only back in the game but behind the controls of a pastime the younger generation is wild about: Nintendo Wii.
The game is a video console system that flew off the shelves when it was released last year. Players hold the game controls and go through the swinging motion of bowling, golfing, playing tennis and even boxing. An animated figure on a screen carries through the motion.

Lake Taylor hosts breakfast for City of Norfolk officials |

On Thursday, December 20, Lake Taylor hosted their annual breakfast for City of Norfolk officials. During the breakfast, Mayor Paul Fraim presented Dr. Willette LeHew (Lake Taylor Board member), who recently retired, with a special plaque in honor of his time and dedication to the medical field of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Eleanor Bradshaw, Director of Government Relations, also reviewed the special Mermaid license plates that can currently be purchased. |
